Beloveds,

There is an incredible energy rising in this country – an awakening, a reclaiming. I feel it at the the social middle-earth level as a bracing, on the cusp of something we can’t quite name, a heightened awareness. There is community here, communion with our common humanity, and commitment to solidarity.

Yes!

May we move with each other through this collective transition, may we move with grace and compassion, with bigger hearts than we’ve ever experienced, with deeper roots than we’ve ever felt, with wider vision for what’s possible, a world free from tyranny and conspiracy, a world of abundance, acceptance, and truth.

All of us have our reasons for staying home or going to the protests on Saturday, the first step toward embodiment is to make your decision and own it. Don’t be a victim of circumstance, embrace that all your actions are choices and all your choices flow from your priorities. Just sayin’.

The next step is to decide how you are going to contribute to the movement – actually, there are no passive bystanders, even those who choose to stay home. Here are some ideas:

  1. Nonviolence wins, and never give up your faith in the inherent goodness of humankind. As Dr. King said “The arc of the moral universe is long, but it bends toward justice.”
  2. Read How to Stand Up to a Dictator by Maria Ressa – like, now! If you haven’t already.
  3. Get in your body, and stay embodied. When you are embodied you are not checked out, you are not on autopilot, and your thoughts and feelings are not being manipulated by others. When you are embodied you are paying attention, you are making conscious decisions, and you are in touch with your thoughts and feelings. You have autonomy, sovereignty, and you have agency.

So, I’ll leave you with a couple thoughts and an invitation:

First, this is why I’m the Savage Shaman. I’ve gotta say the things you don’t want to hear (or, most people might not want to hear this, but you do since you’re reading this), and I’ve gotta call you out on your shit. Stop making excuses, take responsibility for your decisions. Choose it, and fucking own it. (Because I’ve been blessed with many teachers who were just as compassionately fierce with me!)

Second thought: remember there are no passive bystanders. Silence is complicity. Stand on the side of nature, on the side of humanity, community, and our common goal to live in peace and health on this one planet earth.

My invitation to you:

I am choosing to stay home – for lots of personal reasons, the first being my health and I don’t want to be a liability in a large crowd. The next being my kiddos. So I’m staying home and hosting a day-long online embodiment retreat on Patreon.
